Dreamweaver as a Web Development Tools

Adobe dreamweaver is one of the web development tool which have been developed by the Adobe Systems. Indeed, dreamweaver can be seen becoming the web development tools that is frequently being used especially in developing a website design. As such, dreamweaver have includes the templates for the web pages to be assist in the design process. Hence, this features will really gives benefits towards the developer especially for the beginners to design the web pages as the workload is reduced as the ready template have been available. Furthermore, dreamweaver also will gives ease for the user to manage and update websites effectively. Indeed, website designer or the user themselves can make changes to the design of their specific website simply by just editing the dreamweaver template files. In addition, use of the template can be seen separate the code and design of the website which will than ensure the cahnges can be made to the whole content without any risk of making unnecessary or incorrect alterations to the specific code of the website.

However, in the articles, it stated that user can also switch and choose which  view user wanted to used such as the ‘code view’ , ‘design view’ or ‘split view’ that have been provided in the dreamweaver. Furthermore, in kangainternet also stated that dreamweaver have provided tools on dramweaver which help user to correct any mistakes in the syntax once user choose to edit any of the code while developing the website. Indeed, there are many great features that have been provided in dreamweaver for ensuring ease for the user to used it.

Based on my experience of using dreamweaver as my website developing tool, personally, I found it very interesting. Indeed, I have experienced a great time of developing my personal website. Moreover, dreamweaver is not a very complicated software to be used especially in developing a website design. As I use the dreamweaver to design my website during my studies, I did not encounter such a big problems. Indeed, dreamweaver have gives me an ease of creating website design. As whwn I don’t have an idea about how should I code the layout, dreamweaver gives the solution as user can choose to used each view they wanted to. Hence, as I don’t have an idea on how should the code be, I would then change it to another view which is the ‘design view’. Indeed, eventhough we change the view, the design will not be effected at all. Dreamweaver gives another help which is good so that no big errors will be encountered by user. A part from that, dreamweaver is such a great software to be used for developing website design as it alo gives user an easy way to upload it by using the FTP. Indeed, it can be seen that dreamweaver software comes with a build in FTP features so that it is possible for user to upload files directly to the user website without any problems. 

Evaluation of Website Using the components of Usability by Jakob Nielsen

Usability can be seen as a quality attribute which assesses on how easy the user interfaces are to be used. Moreover, the word usability can also known as a metoh which is being used for improving the ease of use during the design process. There are five quality components that can be seen which are Learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors and also satisfaction. Indeed, all of this components must be look through so that the usability of the interfaces can be satisfied hence, can be improved once it is being needed.

The website that have been chosen to be evaluate is the Malaysian Online Shopping website , Lelong.my (www.lelong.com.my) and also mudah.my ( www.mudah.my)

Lelong.my

Learnability:-

The learnability of the website can be seen being easy to be gained. As such, the basic tasks such as for the first time user to used the website, the user can be seen have their easy way on how to surf the interface as the interface is being build as simple for the user to used.  The design is not too complex indeed. User can search what they wanted to have by just entering it in the search text box that have been provided in the website. See example below-

Efficiency:-

As for the efficiency of the website, the website is not using the same pattern as the design can be seen  change from pages to pages. Moreover, the font that is being used in the website also not being efficient as it used different type of font in every pages. A part from that, the website also can be seen used a several type of colour in the interface design. Indeed, the colour that has been placed in the website is being appropriate for the user. It is because, as we can see in the website, every pages have a same usage of colour for the header, font and background of the website. However, once the user learned and know about the design, it will definitely ensure their performance of task while using the website.See example below-

Memorability:-

The memorability of the lelong website could not being gained appropriately. It is because the design of the website that can be seen being changed from time to time. However, the design of the interface can be seen making the search text box as permanent which is not being dimolished from the website. It is just changes of design that will make user become confuse and not easy to establish their proficiency. Indeed, the user that have used the website after a period of time will face a little problem where they might consume their time to think on where should they start if they wanted to buy or get things from the website.See example below-

Errors:-

The errors that might be occurred from the website is actually will be happen based on the user performance. If the user have an experience of using sort types of website, hence the errors can be avoided. However, for the user that might not have an experience of using it, they will tend to have a problem which will then lead them to experience error while using the website. Indeed, numbers of errors that they make which perhaps happens too many times should have its own recovery or help from the website towards the user. This is to ensure that the errors that happens can be recover easily by the user.See example below-

Satisfaction:-

Obviously, the user will have their satisfaction of using the website once they manage to get their desired things from the website. Moreover, with the simple design of website that is being provided, user will be more pleasant to used it. Not everyone can accept on the way of website that is being developed with too many information provided in one page.

As for the mudah.my website, the website can be used easily. The basic task that user want to perform while using the website can be done easily. Moreover, the interface of the website is very clear. All the information given is wise and appropriate. Indeed, user can choose from what country they wante to have their specific things. Hence, as for the first time user, it can be seen that the website gives an easy way for the user to perform their task.See example below-

As for the efficiency of the mudah.my website, the website can be seen used a consistent type of font. A part from that, the website also used a same type of color and it can obvioucly be seen in every pages of the website. Hence, it can be said that the website gain its efficiency for the user. As such, once the user have learned and know about the design of the website which is the mudah.my, user can perform their task easily. See example below-

Memorability:-

As clearly can be seen from the website design, the interface design is so much to say very clear. User can easily used and perform their task without much problem. Indeed, as the user have the experienced using the website, as the user left the website and return back after a few period of not using it , user will reestablish their proficiency more easily.

Errors:-

The errors that user might encountered from the website is actually will be happen based on the user performance. If the user have an experience of using many types of website, hence the errors can be avoided. Nevertheless, as for the user that might not have an experience of using it, they will tend to have a problem which will then lead them to experience error while using the website. Indeed, numbers of errors that they make which perhaps happens too many times should have its own recovery or help from the website towards the user. This is to ensure that the errors that happens can be recover easily by the user. as for the Mudah.my, it gives user some of help to prevent the errors. However, as for the user to search for things specifically, it may lead them to face a little problem as the text box for the search is not being labelled appropriately. Hence, user might think on what should they enter in the text box whether the specific things they want or name of company perhaps.See example below-

Satisfaction:-

Mudah.my gives a kind of satisfactions towards the user as the website is not too complex. The website also provides a lot of information for the user especially for them to buy things through online. As nowadays everything is just at the end of our finger, this website really play its role.
